The school is a place for the integral formation of persons by means of a systematic and critical assimilation of culture. This vital approach takes place in the school in the form of personal contacts and commitments which consider absolute values in a life context and seek to insert them into a life frame work. The school stimulates the student to exercise his intelligence through the dynamics of understanding to attain clarity and inventiveness. It must help him spell out the meaning of his experiences and their truths. Any school which neglects this duty and which offers merely pre-cast conclusions hinder the personal development of its students.

The Institutions owned and managed by the Society of the Brothers of St. Gabriel come under the category of Christian Religious Minority Institutions established and administered within the scope and ambit of the safeguards of Articles 29 & 30 of the Indian Constitution. While article 29 protects the interests of the minorities in general, article 30 safeguards their right to Establish and Administer Educational Institutions of their choice.
Though the constitution does not define as to who the minorities are, Articles 29 & 30 contemplated to protect the "Linguistic" and "Religious Minorities". However, the identity of Minorities was subject to litigation in various cases. The matter was exhaustively considered by the Supreme Court and as it stands today, a community which is numerically less than 50% of the population of the state in question, constitutes a minority community (Ref. No. F. 7-51/89-PN(D.III) Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, New Delhi, dated 6.1 0.1989-Appendix & AIR 1958, SC 956; 1959, SCJ 321).
