INDIA SCHOOL MERIT AWARD 2018-19 by Education Today Portal

It is a great honor and auspisious moment that Montfort School, Roorkee has been awarded by an award of "INDIA SCHOOL MERIT AWARD 2018-19" by an Education Portal name 'Education Today' for 'Ranked No. 20 in India', 'Ranked No. 1 in Uttarakhand' and 'Ranked No. 1 in Roorkee'.

Diwali Drawing Competition

On the occassion of Diwali three drawing competition were held by I.I.T Sanskriti club, the NIH dept. and the Mahatma Gandhi library of I.I.T. Ansh Kanojia of class 11 won prizes in all the three events. He was awarded the1st prize at I.I.T Sanskriti club and 2nd prize at NIH and a consolation prize by the I.I.T library and was presented a certificate, a book on the scientists, a calculator and a cash prize of Rs. 200/-.

Angels’ Academy Senior Secondary School, Bahadrabad, had organised an Inter-School Debate Competition in English for classes IX to XII on Saturday, the 18th of November 2017. The motion set for the debate was: ‘India is ready to go cashless’. The competition was conducted in two rounds; speeches in favour and against the motion, followed by the rebuttal round. Ten schools had participated in the event. Montfort School, Roorkee, was represented bySamayika Jain as ‘speaker for the motion’ and MaulsreeSrivastava as ‘speaker against the motion’; both of class XI-C. MaulsreeSrivastava won the Second prize in the competition.

RotaryClub Roorkee Midtown, in association with, the Institute of Management Studies, Roorkee, had organised an Inter-School Debate Competition for class XII on Saturday, the 11th of November 2017. The debate was common in both the languages; Hindi, as well as, English. The motion set for the debate was: ‘Examinations are the only means of determining intelligence’. Eighteen schools had participated in the debate. Montfort School, Roorkee was represented by VatsalVaish as ‘speaker for the motion’ and AditiMehndiratta as ‘speaker against the motion’; both of class XII C. VatsalVaishsecured the Second Position winning a cash prize of Rs.1500. 

Inter School Badminton Tournament

Montfort offers a broad range of sporting activities for all the students, as well as many opportunities to pursue sport at a more elite level. Inter school badminton tournament was organized from 11th to 13th November 2017. Many students participated in the tournament enthusiastically. The overall Championship Trophy was won by the Montfort school, Roorkee.

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI): A Talent Search Test

Inter School Hindi Debate Competition

Doon Public School, Rampur Chungi organised an Inter School Hindi Debate Competition on 17th December 2016 for the students of class IX-XII. The topic for the debate was: Demonitization.....

Tanisha Tyagi of Class IX (for the motion) and Samayika of Class X(against the motion) represented Montfort School in the Competition, and both of them put up a convincing and laudable performance. 

Tanisha Tyagi stood first among those who spoke for the motion. We express our heartfelt Congratulations and best wishes to her on winning this prize. The efforts of Mrs. Vandana Saxena and Mrs. Monima in preparing the students are also praiseworthy.
